In addition to normal hunting equipment, you
should bring with you:
- Documentation on weapons license (european weapons
pass), receipt for paid Norwegian hunting license
fee, and documents that shows that you fulfill the
requirements for deer hunting in your home
country.
- A sleeping bagIn addition, it is important to
bring:
- Warm clothing, rain clothing
- Good hunting shoes
- A good pair of binoculars
- A practical backpack (we recommend a large backpack
with a frame)
- A GPS
- Your own beverages
Calculate the route
When coming from abroad, an easy way to calculate
your driving route is to use Google
Maps. Enter "Åkra Kvinnherad
Norway" as your destination.
Driving route from the NORTH (Bergen):
Bergen, Os, Hatvik, ferry to Venjaneset, Eikelandsosen,
Mundheim, Gjermundshamn, ferry to Løfallstrand,
Rosendal, Dimmelsvik, Matre, Åkra. Approximately 130 km
total +
2 ferries.
Driving route from the EAST (Oslo):
Alternative 1: Drive over Haukeli and continue on E134
towards
Haugesund. Take off before Etne towards Skånevik. Take
the ferry over to Matre. Continue towards Åkra.
Approximately 400 km total + 1 ferry.
Alternative 2: Drive over Hardangervidda to Odda.Take
the Folgefonn tunnel to Rosendal, Dimmelsvik, Matre,
Åkra. Approximately 490 km total (no ferries).
Driving route from the SOUTH (Haugesund):
Drive E134 towards Oslo, take off towards Skånevik. Take
the ferry over to Matre. Continue towards Åkra.
Approximately 110 km + 1 ferry.

Airplane
It
is possible to take a seaplane (or helicopter)
from Bergen, Oslo and other cities directly to
